The 2010 Pirelli Ultimate Track Car Challenge presented by Grassroots Motorsports and sponsored by StopTech went down on Friday at the Virginia International Raceway. StopTech was there not only as a sponsor, but was on several cars throughout the field, and ultimately ended up on the podium.
A record 65 competitors, with no less than eight running on StopTech equipment, vied for that one golden lap under the NASA Time Trial format at the fifth-annual event.
Taking second place overall was Kuno Wittmer, in a stock Viper ACR-X, which comes standard with rear StopTech rotors and helped the ACR set the record at Nurburgring for Dodge. Wittmer also happens to be sitting second in the Drivers Championship of the SCCA World-Challenge Series just ahead of StopTech CEO Dino Crescentini.

Not to be overlooked was Mike Woods pulling second in a 2003 Chevy Corvette on StopTech brakes for the Independent Varsity category. Tony Wisenhahn fielded a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI with StopTech brakes that proved to be the fastest 4-cylinder in the field. Here is a look from inside his car as he tears around the track...
The event gets bigger every year and we are already thinking about making those laps in 2011!
