Turner Goes for 4-in-a-Row in Virginia

Another race weekend is right around the corner.  This time it is the next stop in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge as the Bosch Engineering 200, set to take place at Virginia International Raceway on May 14, 2011.  Team StopTech will be represented in the GS class by Turner Motorsport.

Three rounds into the season, the #96 NorthWest/Turner Motorsport BMW M3 has been to the podium three times, including a Round 2 victory at the KIA 200 in Miami.  These successes have been a source of pride for Centric Parts and ultra-performance division StopTech. This car is carrying the first of the new StopTech GT Racing Brake Calipers into competition, designed for endurance racing with the company's braking innovations.

To prepare for this weekend the team held a very productive test with the GS cars at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis. The test was held in both wet and dry conditions giving the team very valuable set-up data that could be critical with the changeable spring weather conditions in Virginia.

Braking will be key on this 3.27 mile, 17-turn road course.  The sizable main straightaway and other stretches mean cars with lesser horsepower will need to make up time in the braking zones.

If you can't make it down to the race this weekend you can catch it on SPEED on the following Sunday, May 22, at 1pm EST.
