Turner Motorsport Holds Grand-Am Series Lead on StopTech Brakes

The Continental Tire 150, the latest round of the Continental Tire Grand-Am Sports Car Challenge, went down this weekend at Watkins Glen. Team StopTech's Grand-Am hero, Turner Motorsport, finally had their five-for-five streak of podium visits come to an end. The No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 running on StopTech brakes still managed to hold the overall series lead.

The Grand Sport point leaders and Turner Mostorsport dynamic driving duo, Paul Dalla Lana and Bill Auberlen, finished ninth in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M3. They lead fourth-place finishers Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell - who finished fourth in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R - by 15 points (151-136. Roush and Johnson gained two positions in the standings and now trail the leaders by 22 points with 129.

They all get two weeks to prep for the next round. Dalla Lana and Auberlen will roll out to Wisconsin for the June 24 race with a strong lead. Behind them will be fierce competition and in front of them will be the very twisty, 4-mile Road America track.

As Auberlen said at the end of the last race, " "We're just looking for the long haul. It's all about the championship." Stay tuned to see how that plays out as the Grand-Am season churns into the summer months.
