StopTech at Bimmerfest 2011

The StopTech team was out at the Rose Bowl over the weekend, participating in Bimmerfest 2011. Our booth was busy all day with people stopping by to ask questions and to relate their stories of using our products. It was great talking to all of you who stopped by. Judging from your experiences, it seems a lot of you know what we know about StopTech brakes – they really work. It didn’t surprise us that most of the late model BMW race cars were wearing StopTechs, but it was nice to see some of the most high profile show cars sporting Power Slot and StopTech hardware too.

NASA club racing rookie, Jeff Sykes, stopped by to tell us how he is setting track records all over the place, and he thanks his StopTechs for helping him get the upper hand. He’s really enthusiastic and seems like he has a great racing future ahead of him. Jeff’s E46 M3 was parked at the BMW Car Club of America booth, still sporting some battle scars from his last outing. We’re always happy to hear how people are winning with our brakes, and those stories are becoming more and more common.

Across the lawn from the Sykes racer was one of the most talked about show cars at the event – the matte grey E92 M3 of Martino Auto Concepts. While most people love the look and finish of our new Trophy Kit brakes, the guys at Martino decided they needed a bit more attention on this particular stunning but stealthy sports coupe. The calipers were painted a lime green that matched the vinyls and a few underhood pieces on this otherwise monotone Bimmer and could be seen from half a mile away. Now that’s an attention getter we can get behind.

Of course, our own booth featured a pair of E92 M3s that were pretty eye-catching themselves. The red one had an Active Autowerke supercharger that drew a lot of attention, and the other looked like it had just rolled off the Turner Motorsports trailer. Done up in the special order Dakar Yellow, with unpainted carbon fiber roof, mirrors, spoiler and splitter and black kidney grilles and wheels, it was probably the best looking stock BMW at the show.

We’ll have more highlights for you on Facebook (and here) over the next few days, including a great photo gallery. If you haven’t “Liked” us already, please do.
